For the winners

Was it even a question? For some, yes. They failed to understand how people work, and the mental state that most are in. Or maybe they knew, but thought God was gonna come down and intervene. I don’t know what they thought, but McCain got his ass whupped. It wasn’t even close. He shoulda quit on SNL last week, because the shit was done for. Say what you want about the American people. They’ve been tricked, they’re stupid, they don’t have an understanding of what Obama is REALLY all about. David Letterman (in an interview with Lauren Conrad) said somethin along the lines of he used to think that everybody was an “idiot”. But then after a while, he started to question himself because he was meeting only “idiots”. Then he said to himself, maybe he was the “idiot”. If this was a close race, then I would be willin to accept the theory that Obama “convinced” the general masses that he was a better candidate than McCain. But when you thump on another candidate by 4 million+ votes, it shows that he didn’t have to “convince” anybody, the people believed. And for all of you waiting in the wings for him to fuck up so that you can say “I told you so”, save your breath. He knows and the American people know that the Presidency is a tough job and he is accepting the role in UNFAVORABLE circumstances. He knows he won’t get everything done in one year or one term, but he will start the gears moving in the right direction. And that’s all I can ask for. And I love how he ran a “positive” (by political standards) campaign. Time has a great article about Obama’s rise to Presidency here. This is a new era. My President Is Black.
