And it gets worse. Time is a sister company to CNN but they are more SERIOUS news but they have been known to ride Facebook coattails every once in a while. But this article I can’t be mad at. Apparently this “25 random facts” note thing has spiraled outta control. Over 5 million new notes have popped up since. I don’t know how to explain how much I loathe them, so I’ll let the author of the article do it for me: “But it's just so stupid. Most people aren't funny, they aren't insightful, and they share way too much. Facebook is a loose social network; a "friend" on Facebook might translate to someone you'd barely recognize in real life.” Most people AREN’T funny. Most facts AREN’T random. And people are sharing these things because they think I care? I don’t. And I don’t care to share random facts with people who don’t even know how to say my name properly or recognize me in the streets. I’ve already started a MySpace page so that the transition can begin. Hopefully by next year I’ll be down to 100 or so friends on Facebook…if that. But everybody likes to feel like they are important or that people care about them so I can see why that’s a popular note. Not everyone can have a self inflating blog like me lol.
