So my roommate got a ticket for jaywalking. Guess how much? $135. I don’t lie. I promise you that’s how much he is getting raped, I mean, charged. For crossing the street at a non sanctioned area (not a crosswalk or intersection), $135. Like whoa. He ain’t 5 year old. He ain’t retarded (for the most part). He didn’t do it when the street was busy or durin the night time. He just walked from the barber shop to his car in a direct line. Cop on a bike noticed him, spun around, and gave him a ticket. For jaywalking. I woulda ran. Fuck that, if I ever jaywalk and a cop sees me, I’m high tailing it. I ain’t got $135 to give to the city of Los Angeles for crossing the street. I think I’ma talk to my lawyer first, see if I should even bother creatin a fuss if I do get flagged down. $135…and we in a recession. And it’s Christmas time.
