Third baseman for the USA National Team, Chipper Jones, expressed happiness that the World Baseball Classic is over and they can get back to playing for money. Jones is quoted as sayin:
“It was interesting for a little bit, donating some pro bono swings to my country, but it didn't feel completely right, like there was something missing. Something like money. I'm really looking forward to making some money again.”
A statement like this doesn’t really surprise me. Especially since it’s all about the money in America. Why would anyone want to work hard for free? Everyone knows that America is the best at any sport, even sports that aren’t really sports but we call them sports in order to make people feel good about themselves. And I’m drawin a blank on an activity like that, so feel free to help me out. Oh wait, Poker! And any other card game…I guess these people are considered athletes now. Chess isn’t a sport either.

ReplyDeleteI was gonna say golf, but I guess it does require some kind of physical skill. You can't just go out there and start wackin the golf ball.
