In what may be the WORST remix in years…seriously it’s that bad, Souljah Boy has teamed up with Weezy, Fabolous, and Jeezy to create a Turn My Swag On remix. There are others (with Jada and Jimmy Jones) but I think this one is the official remix. Just terrible, I mean, I don’t even wanna bother with typin out the lyrics. Avoid the song if you can. I mean why does Young Jeezy have two verses? What remix has the guest rap twice? Nonsense. Now before you say it I will. I know Fab got a line in there, tryin to take a shot at me. Talkin bout “quit makin blogs, try and make some money” or some dumb shit like that. All I know is that if Mr. Lo-So doesn’t want to become Mr. No-Mo he gonna keep my name out his mouth. I spit hot fire, like Dylan. I’ll ether homeboy. Plus I got 50 in my camp…Mr. Career Ender himself. Watch it Fab. Usually when you have one bad player on a team of great players, the bad player’s game elevates a bit to the level of the great players. Not the case with this remix. Everyone dumbs down to SB’s level. It horrific. At the last minute I decided to ruin your lives and link the song.

LMAO. As you can imagine, there has been nothin but negative backlash at SB. Like he was tellin lies or somethin. Niggas just love to hate when they see someone else makin money, EASY! Souljah Boy ain’t kill hip hop, Nas ain’t kill hip hop, nobody killed hip hop. “Hip hop is something you live, rap is something you do.”~ KRS-One, which is EXACTLY what I had been sayin since ’05 when niggas first started talkin bout the death of hip hop. Hip hop is a CULTURE, it can’t be killed. There are still b-boys and b-girls, taggers, real DJs that spin records and not macbooks, and other aspects of hip hop that is still thrivin. Rap is a musical expression of hip hop and it’s evolved with the times. Niggas mad at Soulja Boy because he 17 and has millions (and millions) from makin a hit record that didn’t involve talkin bout guns, drugs, and being hood. How can anyone be mad at that? On one hand we talk about the youth and how they have no future with the terrible neighborhoods that they live in. But then when one nigga make it out the hood, he’s the death of hip hop? SHUT THE FUCK UP. Go read a book, your ignorance will only bring down the people around you (due to the 6 degrees of separation, eventually it will reach me). And he right about Nas needin to bite his tongue. Granted his analogy wasn’t the best, it wouldn’t make sense for a basketball player to say the NBA is a dying league when he still has to play in the NBA. I know why Nas said hip hop is dead and titled his ’06 album with the same name. It’s because he needed to make sales. He just rode a gimmick. The album was supposed to be called The NASdaq Dow Jones, but once the “hip hop is dead” slogan gained momentum he thought it would be proper to shift gears. That’s the only Nas album I’ve never listened to and don’t plan on. If he wanna do some commercial shit, give me some more Oochie Wally. And one more thing, sayin somethin over and over does work. Ask Jay-Z when he was callin himself the best rapper alive in like ’00-’01, then everybody started sayin it.

Souljah Boy Tell Em robbed at gun point

Another piece of Soulja Boy news. It appears that his house was robbed by two goons (look for the video of these boys with durags coverin they faces. I think they may win the Nigga(s) of The Year award. I should find a winner for last year. It’s probably John McCain and his campaign.) . But SB is alright, nobody in the house was harmed, and his record sales still are in the shitter. Lol. I mean if this was his attempt at gettin back in the spotlight, he needs to read 50’s book a bit more. You gotta get shot in order to increase albums sales, not just have a kickdoor occur (for my non-hood readers, a “kickdoor” is basically when you run up in someone’s crib (you may or may not kick down the door) guns flashin and rob the people in it. It is much more dangerous than a regular burglary where the occupants aren’t home or sleep and the chances of someone getting hurt is slim.). And if you gonna try to beef with another rapper (such as Nas), you need to make a diss track not a video talkin bout how you disagree with him. But the boy is only 17, he’ll learn. Souljah Boy Tell Em Relapses on some 808s and Heartbreaks

Time for number twoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. Souljah Boy Tell Em plans on releasing his sophomore album this December. Um, well, good for him. I like SB, but come on, let’s be real. He’s a one hit wonder. His new single “Birdwalk”? Really? I would have rather heard “Gucci Bandana” as the first single. A lot of people hate on Souljah Boy which really disappoints me. Here we have a teenage kid makin music and makin money…legally! He ain’t sellin drugs or in a gang. He’s just makin music for KIDS to dance to. So why do grown ass folks feel the need to hate on him and say he killin hip-hop? First of all, hip-hop is a culture and can’t be killed (that’s why I didn’t fuck with Nas on the Hip-Hop is Dead album, I thought that was all marketing and gimmicks) and since when is makin club music a sin? People have been spoiled with the gangsta rap movement in which an album doesn’t sell or isn’t “hip-hop” if there isn’t sex, money, and drugs being rapped about. And he a producer, and even though they all sound the same, so what? He makin money! Be happy for him. Half of ya’ll haters can’t even rap.

Last week I went to the Q-Tip listening party at Turntable Labs in LA. Big mistake. I shoulda went to the Kanye West listening party. Why? Prolly better music but most importantly, NAKED WOMEN. Thanks to Kanye, we can see all of that on his blog (NSFW). It appears Kanye is losing ground with his single and there are talks of pushin his album back. SOUNDS LIKE A GOOD PLAN KANYE!!! Push that shit back, and record a new album without that voiceover shit. His new single still uses it on the chorus. It’s like come the fuck on man. You are talented enough not to need a gimmick to push albums. Lil’ Wayne didn’t sell a million because of Lollipop (it sure helped), but because he put out an album that was better than what people expected of him (me included). You ain’t gonna sell a million by irritating people ears Kanye. Put your ego aside for a sec and realize this.


Eminem is planning his comeback return. What? Eminem isn’t black? Did you watch the Totally Awesome video in the intro? Em is black. His new album, Relapse, is due this year and I’m kinda excited to hear it. He’s been out the game for 4 years (did the nigga go to college or somethin?) and I could just imagine what (or who) he’s gonna rap about. Then again, it would be nice for him to have shown some growth and maturity and flip the script. But then he wouldn’t be Eminem. Ah the conflicts of life.

Music to my ears

The new Snoop video is wack. Makes me feel like I’m drunk while watchin TV. And all them video hoes are ugly except the Dangerous one. That broad gonna be the next Melissa Ford. Let me work on figuring out who she is….

So did I miss the memo on the new BET line up? Rap City comes on dumb early, then its 2 hours of wack programming before 106 & Park comes on. If it’s a west coast thing, than forgive the rant but Rap City was on at like 3pm (PST) today. Is this BET’s attempt at stopping rap from destroyin our youth? Did they say, “Hey, let’s put all the rap videos during a time slot that kids are either going to be doin they homework or at an afterschool program.” That was a foolish mistake. Kids don’t like doin they homework and they don’t like stayin on school grounds once they’ve been released. This time change is going to increase the amount of homework not done and decrease the amount of students in afterschool programs. Good job BET, once again killing our future!!!

Speakin of killin black people, I thought V.I.C. killed himself after selling only 7,000 albums since his debut? Maybe he failed at doing that too. Loser. If your furniture “Wobbles”, then put V.I.C.’s new CD under the shorter leg and balance it out lol. Mr. Collipark, I let you slide with Souljah Boy Tell ‘Em. Then you made the mistake of Hurricane Chris which I ignored like it didn’t happen. But V.I.C.? I hope your mother punches you in the mouth for this shit.

Speakin of Mr. YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU. Just seen him in Bow Wow’s joint. Um. Well. I like the boy. I’m glad he brought dancing back. He doesn’t have to be the best lyricist and I don’t mind his beats all sound alike (that is a curse of ALLLL new producers. When Kanye first started, you knew a Kanye beat when you heard it. Same with Timbo in his Aaliyah and Ginuwine days and Swizz Beatz in his Ruff Ryder days. Hell, Primo and Alchemist still sound the same and they’re still considered one of the greats). The song Marco Polo just makes me wonder how Bow Wow is still in the game? Who is buyin his albums? Great line from SB: “Your girlfriend’s forehead was on my abs last nite.”
