Japan's hurting too
Forgive me for the laziness, but I’m just gonna snatch the info right from the article: “Last week, Sony reported that it fell into the red in its latest quarter and repeated its forecast for an operating loss of $2.9 billion in the year ending March 31, its first such loss in 14 years…Toyota, the world's No. 1 carmaker by sales and profitability, recently announced that it expects to post its first operating loss in seven decades for the fiscal year ending March 31…Honda lowered its profit forecast for the fourth time this year; Panasonic, the world's largest maker of consumer electronics, is slated to post a loss of at least $1 billion in its current fiscal year, its largest ever; and Toshiba, one of the world's largest producers of memory chips, and computer maker NEC Electronics also forecast big losses.” Where is Godzilla when you need him? I’m pretty sure once the layoffs start happening (if that is something part of the Japanese culture) that the suicides will increase. If there’s one thing those Japanese like to do, it’s drink and sing. Another thing is to kill themselves if they have dishonored their family. But only like the cowardly murder-suicides you see here, a Japanese man will jump off a public building and splatter his insides for everyone to witness. Then his family name will be right again. Huh? Exactly. Those honorable Japanese.
